FAQ’S

How far in advance should I book a Hair and Makeup Artist for my Wedding Day?

Weekend dates during the summer months can get booked up extremely quickly, sometimes even a year in advance, so we would recommend booking a Hair and Makeup Artist as soon as possible once you have your wedding date locked in. We will always endeavour to accommodate last minute bookings so please feel free to get in touch if you require a last minute booking

How far in advance should I book my trial?

We would recommend booking your trial anywhere between 3 and 6 months before the Wedding Day, however we are able to work to your schedule depending on availability so please just ask if you have a specific date in mind. We can accommodate a trial booking on either a weekday or weekend

Who will be my Makeup Artist?

The Founder of The Bridal Experience, Rachel McDonald, will be your Hair and Makeup Artist for both your Trial date and Wedding Day. However during busy periods and depending on availability it may be necessary to allocate another Hair and Makeup Artist for your appointments. Please note that Rachel personally handpicks her team of Hair and Makeup Artists to ensure that the highest of standards are met and the ethos of The Bridal Experience are upheld at all times

What is included in the price of my Trial and Wedding Day Services?

Trial - All Trial appointments are held in the comfort of your own home and last between 90 minutes and 3 hours depending on whether you have selected just Hair/Makeup or both. During this time a full consultation is given which gives you the opportunity to discuss the type of looks you like. We recommend doing some research in advance of your trial and putting together a moodboard of the styles you like. Please note that often images on Instagram and Pintrest are heavily edited and filtered and therefore not a true representation of what the makeup will look like in real life. We will discuss what it is about the chosen images that you like and we can take inspiration to create a look that compliments your own features

Following your Trial appointment a comprehensive itinerary will be put together for you outlining the schedule for your Wedding Day in terms of arrival times and the order in which each guest will have their appointment. It is imperative that this itinerary is followed to allow a smooth and stress free start to the day. In addition to the itinerary we will also put together a suggested skin care plan to follow in the lead up to the Wedding Day

Wedding Day - The Wedding Day itinerary will be set out to allow enough time for the Hair and Makeup Artist to arrive and set up their station. Your Hair and Makeup Artist is dedicated to you alone, so should you have bridal party guests that have also booked Hair and Makeup services, these will be undertaken by an additional Hair and Makeup Artist. This is to ensure you have undivided attention for your special day

We only book one Wedding per day so we are completely yours until you leave for the venue. After Hair and Makeup is completed we stay to help with the veil, any accessories and last minute touch ups

What products do you use?

We use only professional skincare and makeup brands including Nars, Charlotte Tilbury, MAC, Hourglass and Illamasqua to name a few
